  • We meet at 7:30 pm, on the 2nd Monday of every month at 310 Enid Street in Houston Texas. (Map)

     welcome

You are at the internet home of Lorenzo de Zavala Lodge #1397, AF&AM. We were the first predominately Hispanic lodge chartered in the Houston area and are proud to be in our 44th year of making good men better.

We meet on Mondays and Thursdays. Our stated meetings are held the second Monday of each month. Ladies are always invited. We share a cover dish supper, and afterwards have a brief business meeting. We then invite the ladies, E.A's, F.C.'s and other visitors into the lodge room for a program about the lodge in particular or Masonry in general.

Improvements have been made to our lodge room recently. An area 10' X 20' feet of black and white tile has been installed in the center of the lodge. A new letter "G" and navy blue drapery adorn the Master's station. The Tiler's room has been carpeted. A new library has been added. New computer equipment was recently donated and the kitchen and dining area is neat and clean.

Most important, the ritual is well rehearsed. We understand that degree work is for the benefit of the candidate. Lodge members are serious about performing the ritual to the best of their abilities. They want to leave a lasting impression on the candidate. Also, we are blessed with a cadre of members who are always ready and able to instruct.

The lodge has a scholarship fund. The "Arturo Martinez Scholarship Fund." (In memory of one of our deceased members.) We host a costume dance at Halloween to benefit the fund. It is a time for our membership and friends to fellowship outside of the lodge. Further, it gives us an opportunity to shine, as Masons, while giving us an opportunity to raise funds for a good cause.

Enthusiasm is great. Camaraderie among the bretheren is at an all time high. The contribution of the ladies has made a great difference. We have a number of young men who are anxious for more light and show a desire to take part in all lodge acivities.

    Come by and see!!!!

Saturday May 16th, 2009 will be our 2nd Annual LDZ Lodge Family Picnic, so please come out and support your lodge with a day of fun, fellowship, and food! We plan to start at noon and go until we are worn out from playing volleyball, horseshoes, and everything else. Everyone in the family is invited, including friends, neighbors, etc. (Please bring your children!)

The picnic will be held at the San Jacinto Battleground, under the covered pavilion. It has been reserved under Lorenzo De Zavala Masonic Lodge for the whole day.

We will also be visiting the gravesite of our beloved brother Lorenzo De Zavala, the first Vice-president of Texas and a true Texas Hero and Legend.
